The Lifelong Knowledgebase, and How to Find Your Own Answer in 60 Seconds
How to use the Lifelong Knowledgebase to self-serve answers on common POS questions. Step-by-step Scribe walkthroughs, search tips, and when to call support instead.

The Lifelong Knowledgebase is our public help library. It's built for retail owners and their teams to search a question and land on a short, screenshot-driven walkthrough that answers it in about 60 seconds. Voids, refunds, gift cards, loyalty enrollment, cashier PINs, end-of-day reports, receipt printer reloads, and everything else that comes up during a normal shift is in there. We keep it public because your team should never have to log in to look up how to reload receipt paper. It's built on Scribe, so every article is a step-by-step with the exact screens you'll see on your PAX or Landi terminal. Below is how to search it fast, when to use it, and when to text support instead.
Why we made it public
Most POS help libraries hide behind a login. That works fine until a Saturday-night cashier needs to know how to void a transaction and doesn't have the login handy. So we did the opposite. The Lifelong Knowledgebase is a public URL. No account needed. Bookmark it on your phone, print the QR code, or just tell your team "search llmerchantservices.com/knowledge-base for anything you're not sure about."
Your team already knows how to use Google. The knowledgebase is set up so a regular search the way your cashier would type it ("how do I void a sale" or "add a new cashier") lands on the right walkthrough on the first try.
What's inside
The library is organized around the tasks that come up in a normal week at the register. Categories include:
- Getting started: first-time login, adding your first products, hardware setup
- Ringing sales: applying discounts, voids, refunds, split tenders
- Inventory: adding products, managing variants, receiving stock, cycle counts
- Cashier management: PINs, permissions, time tracking, shift reports
- Loyalty and gift cards: enrollment, redemption, balance checks
- Dual pricing: cash discount setup, signage, receipt configuration
- Reports: end-of-day, weekly sales, cashier performance, tax reports
- Hardware: receipt printer troubleshooting, card reader restart, network reconnect
- Payments: processing settings, chargebacks, deposits
Each article opens with the exact steps, in order, with numbered screenshots. No wall of text. No 10-minute video you have to scrub through. Just the tap-here, tap-here-next flow.
How to search it fast
Three ways your team can find an answer in under a minute:
Direct search on the site. Type the question the way you'd naturally ask it. The search bar handles typos and synonyms. "Refund without receipt" and "how do I refund something a customer bought yesterday" both land on the same article.
QR code from your hardware. Every Landi C20 Pro that leaves our office in Atlanta has a QR code sticker that opens straight to the knowledgebase. Point any phone at it and you're in.
Bookmark on the counter phone. If you have a shared cashier phone or tablet, add llmerchantservices.com/knowledge-base to the home screen. Tap once, search, done.
Why Scribe-style walkthroughs work
The knowledgebase is built on Scribe, which captures the exact click-by-click flow of a task with screenshots between each step. Compared to a written manual or a video, that format has three advantages:
- Screenshots match your actual screen. When we update the platform, we regenerate the walkthroughs. What you see in the article matches what you see on your Landi or PAX.
- You can jump to the step you're on. If you're already three steps in and just stuck on step 4, scroll to step 4 and pick up.
- Prints cleanly. If you want to hand a new hire a physical copy of "how to close out the register," print the Scribe article and hand them a 1-page reference.
For the underlying flow that all this feeds into (support, training, hands-on help), see our Retail POS Support post.
When to use the knowledgebase vs when to call
The knowledgebase covers about 80% of the questions that come up in a normal shift. Here's a rough split:
Use the knowledgebase for:
- Everyday cashier questions ("how do I void this")
- Setup questions during your first two weeks
- Training a new hire on a specific flow
- Reminders on infrequent tasks (year-end reports, hardware swaps)
Text or call support for:
- Anything with dollar signs attached that doesn't match your report
- Hardware that stopped working, not just a soft error
- Payment processing questions (chargebacks, unusual settlement)
- Anything that needs a decision, not just a walkthrough
Our support number is textable, so if the knowledgebase doesn't answer it in 60 seconds, text a photo of what you're seeing and someone from the Atlanta team will jump in. See our Retail POS Support post for the full flow.
What we add to the library
We add or update articles every week. The two triggers:
A question comes in more than twice. If two different merchants ask us the same thing in a week, we write a knowledgebase article on it so the third person can self-serve.
We update the platform. New features get walkthroughs before they go live so your team isn't guessing.
The library is meant to grow with what you actually need, not what we think you might need.
Tips for getting the most out of it
- Search however you'd naturally phrase it. The library handles typos and casual wording. You don't have to know the exact term.
- Bookmark the categories you use most. If you're a smoke shop, bookmark the age verification and variant matrix articles. If you're a liquor store, bookmark cycle counting and bottle-level inventory.
- Point new hires at it on day one. Instead of walking them through every flow yourself, give them the knowledgebase URL and 30 minutes to skim it before the first training call.
- Print the top 5 articles for the counter. Voids, refunds, cashier login, end-of-day, receipt paper reload. Laminate them and keep them at the register. New hires can flip through them instead of interrupting a manager during a rush.
